Maren Jewellery

German fine jewellery brand Maren creates beautiful pendants, rings and bracelets out of non-traditional materials such as recycled gold and lab-grown diamonds. Its Sunray collection features elegant pieces inspired by nature. We sat down with the brand’s founder Helge Maren Hauptmann to discuss four of her top picks.

Sunray Pendant

“The Sunray collection is a tribute to the life-giving power of the sun. The Sunray Pendant is an attempt to capture the sun’s sparkle, as well as the beauty of fine lines. I’d wear it with a simple white blouse and layer it with delicate necklaces. You can wear it on its own for a more minimalist look. For this pendant, I would add a subtle shimmer to the skin to evoke that feeling of a warm summer day.”

Sunray Signet Ring

“The Sunray Signet Ring is a modern-classic featuring 30 hand-set lab-grown eco diamonds from Switzerland. While designing this piece, I imagined capturing the sparkling sunlight and setting it in a contrasting edgy form. I love wearing this ring as a pinky ring, but you can also combine it with several other rings stacked on the index and ring finger. For me, this ring goes just as well with sneakers as it does with a classic dress.”

Sunbeam Pendant

“The Sunbeam Pendant is inspired by the glitter of a waterfall in the sunlight and adds a magical moment to any outfit. Its minimalistic design comes into its own when combined with a timeless and elegant look. I am often inspired by the lines and patterns I see in nature, which have led me to create mindful pieces of jewellery like the Sunbeam Pendant.”

Sunray Bracelet

“As if you could string summer days together and carry them with you at all times, the Sunray Bracelet embodies elegance and beauty and the magic of a summer full of sunbeams caught in blades of grass. This is one of my favorite pieces in the collection and one that requires very high craftsmanship to manufacture. Each piece of the bracelet is made separately, with all edges polished with extreme care to get the exact shape, and then individually soldered together by hand. I imagine wearing this piece with a beautiful summer dress at a beach party, the bracelet capturing the day’s last light.”
