Seren Bride

Launched in 2016, London-based brand Seren (short for ‘Serendipity’) is known for its signature silk jumpsuits. Last year, the brand introduced its first dedicated bridal collection: a capsule of elegant pieces designed to stand the test of time. We met with founder and designer Lucia Daley to discuss three of her top picks.

The Heyday Jumpsuit

“The Heyday is a take on the classic 1970s halterneck jumpsuit. This particular one can either be clasped so you show a little bit of coverage, or it can be [worn] open so that you get a really nice deep, plunging neckline. The waist sash can either be worn with the tassel hanging down the front, or tied in a bow at the back. It can also be tied at the neck, so it’s quite versatile. Having the adjustable details makes it a little easier to style for your body shape.”

The Gee Jumpsuit

“The Gee jumpsuit in ivory silk was the first piece we created for the brand. It works really well because it’s formal at the front with a high neck, and a bit playful and sexy with the low back and tie adding a nice point of interest. It’s so nice for brides to feel that they’ve got that ‘wow’ moment within their outfit [which the low back gives them], even though it’s a bit more pared down than a traditional wedding dress. We find this jumpsuit is most popular for civil ceremonies or wedding after-parties, where brides might want to take off the big [traditional] dress and have something a bit more comfortable [to wear] that they can dance in.”

The Soiree Jumpsuit

“This one is a little bit more playful and bold with a cut-out front. The style was inspired by a 1970s vintage jumpsuit. The high neckline provides a level of formality whereas the cut-out detail is a bit more fun and playful. It drapes across the chest, which makes it super flattering and really easy to wear, [and it’s] great for dancing. It’s also great for accessorising with a big pair of earrings or a hairband.”
